Sourcing Data Analyst

Our client, a growing food and beverage manufacturer, is seeking a detail-oriented Sourcing Data Analyst to support procurement, demand forecasting, supplier performance, and cost analysis. This role works closely with sourcing, planning, operations, and finance teams to turn data into actionable insights, improve sourcing processes, and support reliable material supply.
Key Responsibilities
- Support category strategy development through data analysis, demand forecasting, and market research.
- Maintain and optimize the monthly demand database to support strategic decisions and long-term sourcing plans.
- Partner with the planning team to align inventory levels and ordering patterns with demand forecasts and supplier lead times.
- Serve as a key supplier contact, supporting performance reviews, KPI tracking, issue resolution, and corrective action initiatives.
- Support contract negotiations through cost analysis, benchmarking, and scenario modelling.
- Monitor raw material market trends and provide insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
- Build and maintain forecasting models, cost breakdowns, reports, and tracking tools.
- Identify supply risks, including shortages and pricing volatility, and recommend ingredient or packaging alternatives to support supply continuity.
- Support sourcing projects by coordinating supplier price changes, production requirements, and customer pricing schedules.
- Maintain the annual sourcing calendar to support contracting cycles and budgeting activities.
- Maintain accurate material quality specifications and requirements.
- Work with Accounts Payable to resolve invoice pricing and volume discrepancies and support accurate, timely supplier payments.
- Partner with Accounts Receivable to track and reconcile supplier volume rebates.
- Identify opportunities to improve sourcing processes, data accuracy, and reporting efficiency.
- Follow company policies and applicable health, safety, environmental, quality, food safety, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) requirements.
- Support additional sourcing and analytical projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce, Management, Economics, Food Science, or a related field.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, with the ability to organize, analyze, and present data effectively.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with suppliers, cross-functional teams, and management.
- A collaborative approach, initiative, and the ability to support and lead projects.
