Overview

As a backend-focused Java professional, you will build low-latency, high-throughput applications for financial services. You’ll work within a cross-functional team to deliver robust Java/Spring-based services, integrate market connectivity (FIX) and messaging (JMS/MQ/Kafka), and ensure quality through TDD and CI/CD practices. The role combines core Java expertise with cloud/Microservices and containerization to support scalable, reliable trading workflows. You will partner with engineering and operations to maintain performance and stability in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Develop Java/Spring-based backend services with emphasis on performance and reliability
  • Integrate market connectivity using FIX protocol and related tooling
  • Work with messaging systems (JMS, MQ, EMS, Kafka) for inter-service communication
  • Rely on RDBMS concepts with Oracle, Sybase, or MS SQL for data persistence
  • Implement cloud-native microservices and containerization approaches
  • Adhere to test-driven development and established development standards
  • Collaborate in an Agile environment and participate in the software development lifecycle
  • Perform Unix/Linux scripting and contribute to CI/CD pipelines
  • Engage in analysis and troubleshooting, taking ownership of tasks and multitasking
Key requirements
  • Java proficiency with strong Spring/Spring Boot experience
  • Experience with Java NIO (Channels, Buffers, Selectors)
  • Expert knowledge of FIX protocol and market connectivity
  • Low-latency programming expertise
  • Experience with JMS, MQ, EMS or Kafka
  • Strong RDBMS knowledge (Oracle, Sybase, MS SQL)
  • Cloud experience with microservices and containerization (big plus)
  • Test driven development and adherence to development standards
  • Unix/Linux scripting experience
  • Experience with CI/CD tools and Agile lifecycles
  • Basic proficiency with MS Office tools (Word, PPT, Excel)
  • Bachelor degree or equivalent experience
  • Financial services domain experience
