Specialist Solutions Architect, Payments

In this role you drive global payments optimization for enterprise customers, shaping Stripe’s optimization offerings and orchestrating multi-PSP architectures. You collaborate with sales, product, and engineering to accelerate opportunities, share best practices, and create reusable assets. Your thought leadership on BNPL, adaptive pricing, and payment orchestration enables customers to maximize authorization and conversion at scale. You’ll partner across teams to influence the product roadmap and customer outcomes.

• Act as SME for Stripe's Optimized Checkout Suite, Adaptive Pricing, Managed Payments, Orchestration, and BNPL integrations to accelerate opportunities globally
• Demonstrate expertise in global payment optimization, including local acquiring, intelligent routing, currency conversion, and authorization strategies
• Design multi-PSP and payment orchestration architectures with Stripe integrations alongside or replacing incumbents
• Advise on BNPL strategy, including product choices and integration patterns across checkout and billing
• Develop and share reusable best practices and assets to improve GTM team efficiency
• Create reference architectures for end-to-end payment infrastructure with Stripe at the core
• Partner with Payments product sales on complex OCS/Orchestration opportunities and manage key customer relationships
• Serve as Voice of the Customer to influence product and feature prioritization
• Identify trends in payment orchestration, cost optimization, and alternative methods; provide insights to product and sales
• Escalate complex technical issues to Stripe engineering for resolution
• Stay current on competitive analysis and market differentiation
• Support marketing events including executive briefings, conferences, user groups, and trade shows
• Approximately 25% travel anticipated

• 7+ years of payments/fintech in pre-sales, solutions architecture, or technical consulting
• Strong knowledge of global payment methods (cards, wallets, bank-based methods, BNPLs) with regional/regulatory context
• Experience designing payment optimization architectures for large enterprises (multi-PSP and orchestration)
• Knowledge of authorization rate improvement levers (local acquiring, tokenization, 3DS, smart retries) and tradeoffs
• Strong software engineering and API integration pattern knowledge
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills for technical and non-technical audiences
• Proven ability to build collaborative relationships with business partners
• Ability to operate effectively in ambiguity and fast-moving environments
