In this role you will support a high-profile financial services client as a SQL Database Developer. You will work under the Head of Data to optimize and secure SQL Server databases, improving efficiency and reliability. The role involves hands-on SQL work, performance tuning, and collaboration with a team to deliver robust data solutions in a banking/asset management context. This is a mid-level step into the financial tech space with opportunities to work on impactful projects using Microsoft SQL Server tools.

Responsibilities
  • Write SQL queries and perform performance tuning
  • Restructure and improve database efficiency
  • Apply security measures throughout the database lifecycle
  • Database tuning, administration, management and security
  • Engage in data processing techniques and documentation
  • Collaborate in a team environment
  • Support ongoing projects with clear documentation
Key requirements
  • Microsoft SQL Server 2012 experience (or 2008)
  • SSRS
  • SSIS
  • Experience in database tuning, administration, management and security
  • Strong understanding of relational databases
  • Experience with client-server computing
  • Experience of data processing techniques
  • Good documentation skills
  • Basic programming skills in Java (version 7) (desirable)
