Overview

As a SQL DBA in a fintech firm, you will own SQL Server and SAP ASE database infrastructure across a global estate. You’ll partner with developers and the database team to optimize SQL code, plan capacity, and guide database design and upgrades. The role focuses on scaling, security, backups, and automated SQL solutions in a fast-moving environment. Responsibilities
  • Specialize in SQL Server development and administration
  • Strategize new databases globally including hardware and storage design
  • Capacity planning for new and existing systems
  • Collaborate with developers on SQL code optimization and database design
  • New database installations, upgrades and migrations
  • Configure and monitor database backup policies
  • Release database changes to UAT and production environments
  • Maintain database security policies
  • Develop SQL-based automation systems
Key requirements
  • Knowledge of Microsoft relational database management systems
  • SQL Language and XML database management systems
  • Experience with SQL development
  • Experience with database administration and troubleshooting
  • Strong analytical and organisational skills
  • Eye for detail and accuracy
