  • Number of Positions: 1
  • Duration: 3 months initial contract to start

Responsibilities

  • The SQL Developer with TOAD proficiency, focusing on Oracle database development and management, leveraging TOAD as a primary tool.
  • Designing, developing, and maintaining complex PL/SQL stored procedures, functions, packages, triggers, and views for various business functionalities.
  • SQL querying, optimization, and performance tuning using techniques such as EXPLAIN PLAN, SQL*TRACE, AUTOTRACE, and query hints.
  • Database object management including creating/modifying tables, indexes, materialized views, and other schema components.
  • Data manipulation and ETL tasks, potentially using PL/SQL scripts, SQL Loader, or other tools.
  • Performance tuning to resolve bottlenecks and optimize indexing, queries, and database configuration.
  • Code review and adherence to coding standards, maintaining code quality.
  • Troubleshooting and debugging within the database environment, including analyzing error logs.
  • Documentation of database designs, procedures, and processes.
  • Collaborating with other developers, business analysts, and DBAs to ensure project success.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 5-10 years of experience as an Oracle SQL/PL/SQL Developer.
  • Extensive experience with Oracle databases (versions such as 11g, 12c, 19c).
  • Strong knowledge of database design principles, normalization, and data modeling.
  • Expertise in TOAD for Oracle, and experience with Oracle SQL Developer.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Reinsurance, insurance, and finance knowledge/experience.
