SQL Developer

Data Warehouse/Lead Database (SQL Server)/SQL Server Performance & Data/Data Platform Technical Lead (SQL/Risk & Controls)

Location : Hybrid and 2-3 days in Glasgow office

• Prior experience leading the design, programming, integration, and end-to-end delivery of SQL Server data warehousing and data distribution platforms.
• Advanced T-SQL engineering (stored procedures, functions, set-based query design), physical data modeling, data quality assertions, and automated database unit testing (eg, tSQLt).
• Deep hands-on experience in SQL Server performance optimization, including execution plan analysis, indexing strategies, partitioning, TempDB tuning, concurrency management, and incident triage under pressure.
• Expertise in SQL Server, T-SQL, tSQLt, Git/GitLab CI/CD, Scripting tools (PowerShell, Bash, Python), Nexus, and basic exposure to Java/Scala or Spark-based data pipelines.
• Hands-on experience implementing enterprise database security controls, sensitive data handling, access management, audit logging, data lineage, and records management retention rules.
• Proven track record of leading peer code reviews, establishing coding standards, mentoring junior engineers, and managing delivery dependencies with Enterprise Architects, Product Owners, and Risk/Control teams.
• Domain : Wealth Management & Investment Banking Services (Security, Risk, Controls, and Records Management Reporting).
