SQL Developer – FinTech

Overview

In this SQL-focused role, you will support a data migration team within a fintech data environment, shaping data cleansing and import processes for the core product. You’ll work alongside a data team to improve performance and scalability of mission-critical data services. You’ll apply your SQL expertise to optimize big data queries, manage indexes, and contribute to a fast-moving, technically advanced shop. This is a hands-on opportunity to influence migration speed and data reliability in a cutting-edge fintech setting.

Responsibilities

• Own and promote SQL coding standards across the team
• Develop and optimize complex SQL queries on large data sets
• Extract, cleanse, and load data into the core product
• Re-engineer and streamline the data migration process
• Review and implement scalable technologies and change scripts
• Improve migration performance by identifying and rewriting long-running/high-frequency queries
• Create, merge, and drop indexes to boost overall system performance
• Support MS SQL AlwaysOn and maintain data servers for optimal performance
• Maintain monitoring tools and resolve issues in collaboration with operations
• Collaborate with developers to enhance query performance through indexing and tuning
• On-call troubleshooting and incident response for production SQL Server environments
• Ensure data environment is correctly configured and up-to-date

• MS SQL development experience on enterprise transactional systems with high throughput
• Windows Server 2012r2/2016/2019 experience
• MS SQL Server 2014 +, PostgreSQL 9+ ( familiarity)
• On-call production SQL Server troubleshooting experience
• Experience working with developers to improve query performance and indexing
• T-SQL query tuning and performance optimization
