Overview

In this role, you design and operate enterprise-scale virtualization platforms spanning Microsoft Hyper-V and Broadcom VMware VCF across global data centers. You will partner with cross-functional teams to deliver resilient, high-performing virtualization services that support thousands of workloads. You lead design and automation decisions to boost reliability, performance, and operational excellence, while mentoring peers and codifying runbooks. The role offers visibility and impact in a modern, security-conscious environment that values automation and scalable practices.

Responsibilities
  • Architect virtualization cluster designs across global pools with software-defined compute and storage
  • Automate provisioning, configuration, patching, compliance enforcement, and decommissioning via scripting and APIs
  • Benchmark compute and storage performance to inform capacity decisions
  • Diagnose full-stack issues across compute, storage, networking, clustering, and hypervisor layers
  • Evaluate server BOMs with performance-focused feedback on CPU, memory, storage, and network
  • Harden environments with security partners to remediate vulnerabilities and enforce baselines
  • Document reference architectures, decision records, and runbooks to improve repeatability
  • Mentor engineers through design and code reviews to raise platform quality
  • Utilize enterprise AI capabilities to accelerate analysis and document mitigation options with proper data handling
  • Lead reuse-first adoption of AI-assisted practices to reduce recurring issues with validated changes
Key requirements
  • Formal training or certification in infrastructure disciplines with substantial hands-on experience
  • Expertise in Microsoft Hyper-V and/or VMware VCF in large-scale production environments
  • Automation and configuration management using Python, PowerShell, vRO, or equivalent
  • Full-stack performance assessment across compute, storage, networking, and hypervisor layers
  • Storage performance optimization in virtualized environments
  • Data-center-scale automation and configuration tooling (DSC, SCCM, Ansible, Salt, or equivalent)
  • Plan and deliver production changes with disciplined risk management including zero-downtime upgrades
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing for infra automation artifacts
  • Experience using AI capabilities to support workflows with validation and data-sensitivity awareness
  • Ability to review AI-assisted recommendations and ensure resiliency, security, and auditability
