Sr Lead Software Engineer – Data Engineering, Python/C++/KDB/AI

In this role you will design and deliver high-performance, scalable solutions powering real-time trading and research. You’ll lead global analytics initiatives and collaborate with research and trading teams to onboard datasets and build robust tools for quantitative research and production trading. You will leverage AI to enhance data engineering, analytics, and SDLC automation, contributing to firmwide best practices. Responsibilities- Lead technical initiatives across global analytics teams and guide engineers, contractors, and vendors
- Design, build, and optimize real-time data processing pipelines for mission-critical systems
- Leverage AI to enhance data engineering workflows, analytics, and SDLC automation
- Collaborate with research and trading teams to onboard new datasets efficiently
- Build and support scalable APIs and analytics libraries for quantitative research and production trading
- Mentor team members, manage book of work, and promote SDLC, testing, and coding standards
- Influence product design, functionality, and operations to meet evolving market needs
- Act as subject matter expert in Python, KDB/Q, data engineering, and AI, contributing to best practices and technical excellence
- Champion diversity, inclusion, and collaboration within global teams
- 5+ years of software engineering in large-scale, fast-paced financial environments
- Hands-on experience with system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Strong expertise in Python, KDB/Q, or C++ for real-time processing or data engineering
- Working knowledge of AI technologies (machine learning, generative AI) for data engineering, analytics, or SDLC automation
- Automation and CI/CD proficiency with agile methodologies, Application Resiliency, and Security
- Experience leading and mentoring global teams
- Ability to independently solve complex design problems across distributed teams
- Academic background in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or related field
