Sr Lead Software Engineer - Java

In this Sr Lead Software Engineer role, you will drive design, development, and troubleshooting of secure, scalable software within Enterprise Technology for market-leading financial tech. You’ll be a core technical contributor across multiple domains to support business objectives and improve operational stability. You will lead AI-assisted engineering initiatives to boost quality and delivery speed, while ensuring secure, compliant delivery. This is a hands-on, leadership-heavy role focused on shaping resilient software in a complex financial services environment.

• Design, develop, and troubleshoot software solutions beyond routine approaches
• Write secure, high-quality production code and review peers' code
• Identify opportunities to automate recurring remediation and improve stability
• Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors and internal teams on architecture and applicability
• Drive adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices (code review, refactoring, test strategy) and ensure reuse of patterns
• Leverage SDLC tools to enhance automation and value realization

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts
• Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
• Advanced proficiency in one or more programming languages
• Experience leading AI-assisted development tools and setting team expectations for AI output validation
• Strong understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, security, and resilience requirements
• Proficiency across the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
• Advanced understanding of agile methodologies (CI/CD, Application Resiliency, Security)
• In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and its technology systems
• Practical cloud-native experience
