Overview

As Manager, SunSystems, you will lead a cross‑regional R&D team delivering SunSystems and Query & Analysis features while steering release governance. You will partner with the R&D leadership to set strategy, remove impediments, and coach engineers to grow. The role emphasizes collaboration with teams in the UK, India, and China, and aligns with cloud and product modernization efforts. You will shape release planning and incident management to support high‑quality software delivery that meets enterprise needs.

Responsibilities
  • Provide line management and coaching for a diverse team of up to 10 engineers in a hybrid setup
  • Own release management and governance for SunSystems and related products, coordinating with central governance and Cloud Operations
  • Plan and shape release content with architects, development leads, QA, and Product Owners/Scrum Masters
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams across UK, India, and China to align strategy and execution
  • Support onboarding and career development, fostering motivation and growth
  • Participate in department strategy and leadership discussions within the R&D team
  • Ensure high standards of process control and documentation (release notes, QA reports, deployment approvals)
  • Assist incident management and problem resolution with a calm, organized leadership style
Key requirements
  • Strong line management experience leading a multi‑discipline team in a hybrid model
  • Broad software development and release experience, with Agile delivery background
  • Experience with formal release governance and artifacts (e.g., Release notes, QA reports, Deployment Approvals)
  • Experience in Agile/Scrum environments and iterative development practices
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication; ability to collaborate with remote teams
  • Proactive, collaborative, self‑starter with continuous learning mindset
  • Ability to manage incidents and adapt leadership style to different situations
  • Customer‑focused mindset with understanding of end‑user requirements
  • Knowledge of enterprise applications or exposure to SunSystems/Query & Analysis is beneficial
