In this role you will help build and maintain a GenAI platform that enables internal teams to run secure, scalable AI initiatives. You’ll collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders to deliver high‑quality software and ensure the platform meets performance and security standards. The position sits on the GenAI platform team and offers opportunities to impact how customers experience SAS software at scale. You will work in a dynamic, hybrid setup in Glasgow and contribute to a culture focused on curiosity and accountability.
Responsibilities- Support internal teams in leveraging the GenAI platform to build GenAI-powered initiatives securely
- Design, develop, and maintain high-quality software using modern programming practices
- Engage project stakeholders to ensure requirements are met and aligned with RD standards
- Participate in project scoping, scheduling, and progress tracking; communicate blockers
- Ensure quality through functional, unit, integration, and performance testing and review test plans
- Maintain full lifecycle ownership of code for internal and external consumers
- Translate product management requirements into actionable features
- Adhere to security policies to support secure software development
- 8+ years of software development experience
- Experience with Go or Python, focusing on best practices and performance
- Strong experience with cloud platforms, preferably Azure and Azure OpenAI
- Containerization and orchestration with Docker and Kubernetes
- Git and GitHub usage for version control and collaboration
- Code reviews and maintaining code quality and standards
- Mentoring junior developers and promoting a collaborative environment
- Experience with performance testing and scalability analysis
- Familiarity with Jira for project management
- CI pipelines (GitHub Actions or Jenkins)
- API Management, especially Azure APIM
- Knowledge of Generative AI technologies (OpenAI, Langchain, PromptFlow)
- Understanding GenAI benefits and pitfalls and SDLC familiarity
- Proof of right to work in UK
