Overview

As a Senior Software Engineer at Pendo, you will shape and ship AI-powered product experiences end-to-end, primarily frontend-leaning with TypeScript and Vue.js, while also understanding backend services. You’ll own product judgment, validate problems with customers, and trade off scope in ambiguous spaces to deliver meaningful impact. You’ll work on a small, fast-moving team delivering intelligent features that convert usage data into actionable suggestions, with a focus on reliability and user trust. This role blends hands-on engineering with strategic influence, collaborating closely with product, design, and fellow engineers in Sheffield.

Responsibilities
  • Build and ship AI-powered features end-to-end across the user experience
  • Own full-stack delivery with emphasis on frontend (TypeScript, Vue.js, DOM) and backend reasoning
  • Participate in product discovery by validating problems and shaping scope
  • Define success metrics and iterate based on real usage data
  • Integrate AI coding tools (Cursor, Claude Code) into daily workflow and ensure code quality
  • Ensure AI-backed features maintain low latency, low hallucination, and high reliability
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, and engineers to balance ambiguity with delivery
  • Mentor teammates, raise engineering quality through code reviews and unblock others
  • Promote engineering standards and clear communication to support team growth
Key requirements
  • 3+ years of experience building and scaling web applications
  • Hands-on experience with LLMs and AI agents (production or personal projects)
  • Full-stack engineering with frontend emphasis: TypeScript, Vue.js, DOM, and backend services
  • Strong product judgment for ambiguous problems and scoping
  • Experience defining feature success metrics and iterating on usage data
  • Direct customer or user engagement to validate problems and measure impact
  • Solid understanding of software architecture, design principles, and API development
  • Clear communication and mentoring abilities to support team growth
