Overview

In this role you will help build a hyper-scale data lake for the CrowdStrike Falcon platform, enabling analytics, ML, and threat hunting across petabytes of data. You will own foundational data processing, storage, and scalable pipelines, collaborating across teams to deliver high-performance services. The role focuses on building a graph database and leveraging Java microservices, Spark/Scala processing, and Kubernetes on AWS. Responsibilities
  • Write fault-tolerant Java code within Apache Spark to enable data pipelines and analytics
  • Design, build and maintain ultra-high-scale data platforms processing petabytes of data
  • Participate in product reviews and help develop new features and improve stability
  • Improve efficiency and reduce latency of high-performance services
  • Research and implement data querying methods for internal and external stakeholders
Key requirements
  • 10+ years' experience in backend/cloud development and data platform engineering
  • 5+ years building data platform products or features with Spark, Flink or Iceberg (or comparable tools in GCP)
  • 5+ years programming with Java, Scala or Kotlin
  • Proven end-to-end feature/product design experience with loosely defined specs
  • Experience with algorithms, distributed systems design and SDLC
  • Experience building large-scale data/event pipelines
  • Relational and NoSQL database design (Postgres/MySQL, Cassandra, DynamoDB)
  • Good test-driven development discipline
  • Linux administration proficiency
  • Proven ability to work effectively with remote teams
