Overview

As a Sr. Solutions Engineer at Databricks you will independently lead technical engagements, shaping discovery, design, and platform demos to drive adoption. You will combine coding, architecture, and customer-facing skills to build solutions that scale with customers’ data and analytics needs. You’ll own frontline technical relationships and collaborate with Account Executives to develop strategies that expand platform usage. You’ll showcase the Databricks platform through PoCs and live demos, articulating differentiation in competitive landscapes. This is a hands-on, high-impact role for someone who loves solving complex data problems and teaching others how to leverage modern data and ML—

Responsibilities
  • Lead technical discovery and solution design for customer workloads across data engineering, analytics, and ML
  • Build and deliver proofs-of-concept and live platform demos to win technical engagements
  • Own frontline technical relationships with customer engineers and data teams
  • Develop account-level technical strategies with Account Executives to grow platform consumption
  • Articulate Databricks differentiation through hands-on demonstrations in competitive contexts
  • Contribute reusable technical assets (notebooks, accelerators, reference architectures) to the SA community
Key requirements
  • 4+ years in data engineering, solutions architecture, technical pre-sales, or hands-on consulting
  • Proficient in Python and SQL with production-quality, debuggable code (live coding required)
  • Hands-on data solutions design/implementation on at least one public cloud (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Working knowledge of distributed data systems (Spark, Delta Lake, Hadoop, Kafka, Flink)
  • Experience leading technical customer conversations (discovery, whiteboarding, architecture reviews)
  • Familiarity with data engineering (ETL/ELT, medallion, streaming), data science/ML, or SQL analytics
  • Strong presentation and demo skills for live solution delivery during interviews
