Overview

In this role you will help public sector customers unlock value from data and AI through SAS solutions. You will act as the technical bridge between clients and SAS, shaping strategy and leading multi-disciplinary teams. You’ll drive pre-sales engagements and translate business needs into actionable analytics deployments. The role sits within SAS’s Public Sector Unit, partnering with government customers to deliver high-impact data-driven outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Advise clients on creating business value with data, AI, and analytics solutions
  • Serve as the primary technical contact, translating client needs into SAS-based solutions
  • Define and execute the technical strategy in collaboration with account executives
  • Provide technical and pre-sales leadership, leading multi-discipline teams
  • Engage with central government organisations (e.g., defence, law enforcement, HMRC, DWP)
  • Deliver high-quality customer experiences and demonstrate SAS value via presentations, demos, POCs
  • Create compelling technical visions for diverse stakeholders through domain knowledge and storytelling
Key requirements
  • UK Security Clearance
  • 3+ years in a similar pre-sales role in tech
  • Broad technical knowledge and enterprise architecture understanding with cloud platform knowledge
  • Passion for AI and applications in data management, analytics, fraud detection and intelligence
  • Hands-on experience with SAS technology (SAS Viya Platform – SAS Studio, VA, VI) or equivalent
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites and lead workshops, gather requirements, deliver demos
  • Clear and engaging storytelling for technical and executive audiences
  • Workshop facilitation and requirements discovery
  • Influencing, negotiation, and objection handling
  • SAS Viya Platform (SAS Studio, VA, VI)
  • Enterprise architecture and cloud platforms
  • Data management, analytics, fraud detection, intelligence
