Position Summary and Responsibilities:

Accountants are a key part of the site leadership team because of the insight and visibility they provide, which can make this a challenging position. We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Staff Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, preferably within the manufacturing industry. This role involves managing financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. At Zentech, accountants provide financial analytical support by collecting, compiling, and assisting in the preparation of various reports for customer pricing, accounting, and profitability analyses. They also perform general ledger, financial reporting, and expense account analysis functions within the Finance department. This role is accountable for a thorough understanding of financial information and prioritizing actions to drive financial controls and improvements. 

Key responsibilities include:

Invoicing: Create, issue, and send accurate bills, invoices, and credit memos to clients.

Payment Processing: Record incoming payments (checks, credit cards, ACH, and wire transfers) and match them to the correct customer accounts.

Account Reconciliation: Reconcile the accounts receivable ledger, verify transaction accuracy, and identify or fix discrepancies.

Collections: Monitor aging reports, track overdue accounts, and follow up professionally with clients to collect late payments.

Customer Service: Research and resolve billing inquiries, disputes, and questions from clients or internal teams

Record and maintain entries in the general ledger and reconcile with sub-ledgers 

Compile internal monthly financial statements and other related financial reports

Analyze and recap preliminary various balance sheet and expense accounts

Work collaboratively with program management, operations, purchasing, and accounting functions 

Participate in the preparation of forecasts and reports for cost, sales, income, bookings, backlog, headcount, material and other related data

Understanding material costs, labor costs, overheads, inventory, and A/R status

Lead by example

The preferred candidate will have:

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field

Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing industry

Excellent written and verbal communication skills and effective interpersonal skills

Financial acumen and high attention to detail

Demonstrates discretion, confidentiality, independent judgment, and professionalism

Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office 

Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

Strong organizational and time management skills

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
