Staff Agentic AI Engineer

Lead agentic AI architecture with Python, Node.js, and AWS in a cross-functional role requiring weekly United States client delivery onsite.

Robots & Pencils seeks an experienced Staff AI Builder to design and deliver production AI/ML systems. You will define architecture, lead model development, optimize systems, and solve integration challenges. The work emphasizes agentic workflows, RAG pipelines, prompt engineering, and LLM evaluation. You will also establish engineering standards, mentor engineers, and own features through production.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design agentic workflows across single-agent and multi-agent architectures
• Build RAG pipelines with OpenSearch, embeddings, and re-ranking
• Integrate AWS Bedrock, Agent Core, and MCP-based tools
• Develop Python and Node.js backend services for agentic workflows
• Own features, releases, debugging, hardening, and production troubleshooting

Requirements:

• Six-plus years of professional software engineering experience
• Production experience shipping GenAI or LLM-powered systems
• Hands-on expertise in agentic AI and RAG engineering
• Strong Python, Node.js, RESTful API, and full-stack skills
• Canada work authorization and immediate U.S. authorization eligibility
