Staff Backend Engineer, Developer Experience

In this Staff Backend Engineer role within Developer Experience, you help improve engineering productivity and reduce friction across six distributed teams. You will code in Ruby and Go, design scalable solutions, and shape the engineering culture toward a unified Developer Experience Platform. You’ll partner across Platform, Product, and Infrastructure to modernize testing, optimize CI/CD, and deliver fast, reliable developer tooling at scale. • Provide hands-on engineering contributions and technical leadership across six Developer Experience teams
• Identify pain points with engineers and translate feedback into improvements for the DevEx roadmap
• Modernize testing at scale to provide fast, reliable tooling
• Reduce merge and CI friction by building fast, actionable workflows
• Collaborate with Platform, Product, and Infra teams to remove architectural and process bottlenecks
• Foster a culture of continuous learning, inclusion, and improvement across the org

• Deep experience with developer tooling, DevEx strategies, and testing frameworks at scale
• Experience leading platform or transformation initiatives across multiple teams
• Proven ability to influence without authority and collaborate across functions
• Familiarity with DevOps workflows and CI/CD pipelines
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in a remote-first environment
