Overview

In this role you will design and implement robust API services to support Addepar’s European customer base, while guiding architecture and product roadmaps. You’ll modernize multi-region infrastructure to scale platform capabilities and ensure regulatory compliance. You’ll lead technical direction, mentor engineers, and collaborate across product, engineering, and stakeholder teams to deliver high-impact financial data solutions. This is a chance to shape a cross-border data ecosystem and drive innovation in a fast-growing, highly-regulated space.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and implement robust API services for Europe-focused customers
  • Lead architecture designs and product roadmap creation
  • Research and adopt new technologies and best practices to drive innovation
  • Analyze a complex ecosystem to determine optimal approaches and drive change
  • Mentor, coach, and empower other engineers and contribute to a high-performing culture
  • Contribute to code reviews and technical designs
  • Debug and troubleshoot issues across the application stack
  • Collaborate with engineers, product managers and stakeholders within the company values
  • Be part of a high-performing, cross-functional team
Key requirements
  • Extensive software development experience in backend services
  • Deep knowledge of software design patterns, API design, and SDLC
  • Proven ability to influence technical direction and architecture of distributed systems
  • Understanding of REST, service-based architecture, and distributed systems
  • Rapid learner with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Curious and capable of handling complex requirements
  • Experience mentoring engineers and collaborating with senior peers
  • Experience building services with Java, SQL and AWS
  • Elasticsearch experience is a nice-to-have
  • Demonstrable knowledge of using AI in a professional engineering environment
  • Interest or experience in the financial industry or wealth management
