Staff Cloud Application Architect

Lead cloud application architecture for Capital One’s international Card technology team in Toronto, with full-stack development expertise required.

As a senior technical leader without direct reports, you will design and build customer management capabilities. The position owns technical direction across cross-functional, multi-platform, fault-tolerant systems. Your toolkit may include AWS, Java, JavaScript, Python, React, Angular/TypeScript, Go, RESTful APIs, microservices, containers, and open source databases.

Key Responsibilities:

• Apply High Level Design methodology and contribute to architecture
• Define technical standards and solve complex engineering problems
• Own cross-functional application design and development
• Support engineering practices through technical guidance and workshops
• Mentor junior and intermediate associates through established standards

Requirements:

• Eight years of application or data architecture experience
• Eight years of hands-on software development experience
• Proficiency across front-end and back-end application development
• Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
• Familiarity with agile development methodologies preferred
