Staff Data Engineer

As Staff Data Engineer, you will own the design and construction of scalable data systems across Oviva’s platform, enabling reliable data products from ingestion to analytics. You’ll work within the Data Platform team to shape data architecture that supports cross-functional teams and the company’s AI-powered chronic care mission. Expect to tackle end-to-end data pipelines, data modeling, and quality initiatives that drive trust and impact at scale. • Architect and build scalable data pipelines, transformation layers, and data products with clear documentation
• Define and enforce data quality, testing, CI/CD, and data modeling standards
• Lead cross-functional initiatives with analytics, data science, and product engineering
• Monitor and optimize data infrastructure for reliability and performance
• Mentor teammates through code reviews, pairing, and knowledge sharing
• Translate business goals into practical technical designs

• Extensive professional data engineering experience with end-to-end data system design
• Strong SQL and Python skills
• Experience with cloud data warehouses (BigQuery, Snowflake, or Redshift) and dbt
• Hands-on experience building and operating batch or streaming pipelines (Airflow, Prefect, or Dagster)
• Proven ability to communicate complex trade-offs to technical and non-technical stakeholders
