Staff Engineer AI Platform

Lead distributed systems engineering for MongoDB’s AI platform from anywhere in Canada’s Eastern Time zone. Shape scalable infrastructure using Python, Go, and Java.

As a Staff Engineer, you will provide technical direction for a platform helping customers build AI applications with MongoDB. You will lead high-visibility work improving distributed systems performance, scalability, and reliability. The team values collaboration, intellectual curiosity, and honesty.

Key Responsibilities:

• Define service evolution with product and engineering partners
• Design and deliver tested platform components
• Shape architecture, code reviews, and development practices
• Mentor engineers and own complex projects
• Improve developer experience as the product grows

Requirements:

• Eight-plus years building distributed systems or cloud services
• Strong foundations in scalable compute and data systems
• Experience designing, testing, debugging, and tuning software
• Leadership of 15–20-person infrastructure projects
• Interest in Python, Go, and Java
