Overview

As SAP Platform Lead, you own the strategy, engineering, and operation of bp’s SAP platform estate across on-prem, private/public cloud and SaaS. You lead a global, high-performing SAP platform team, partnering with senior stakeholders to enable cloud adoption, AI innovation and technology simplification. You shape risk, governance, and supplier engagement while delivering resilient, secure services with measurable business value. This is a senior, enterprise-wide role with broad accountability and strategic influence.

Responsibilities
  • Define and drive SAP platform strategy and transformation outcomes
  • Lead SAP platform engineering squads and operations across global environments
  • Manage budget, licensing governance and supplier partnerships
  • Ensure availability, security, compliance, and disaster recovery for SAP services
  • Collaborate with SAP product engineering, transformation, security and cloud teams
  • Shaping adoption of AI, automation and emerging SAP technologies
  • Engage with senior business, technology and partner stakeholders to influence direction
Key requirements
  • Extensive experience leading SAP platform engineering in a large global enterprise
  • Strong hands-on SAP technology background (Basis, technical architecture, BTP, integration, IAM, operations)
  • Experience delivering SAP S/4HANA, BTP, cloud services, Joule and digital transformation programs
  • Proven ability to work with globally distributed teams and partners
  • Accountability for technology budgets, licensing, supplier performance and governance
  • Strong partner relationships with SAP, SI partners and technology providers
  • Influence across senior stakeholders and ability to translate technical concepts into business value
