Overview

In this staff role you will lead the design and delivery of developer-facing systems at Arm, enabling self-service and reducing cognitive load for engineers. You’ll work with cross-functional teams to improve the Engineering Portal and related tooling, aligning solutions with business outcomes. The work focuses on scalable, secure platforms that boost engineer productivity and experience. You will shape engineering experience at scale and collaborate across software, platform, and hardware groups to deliver impactful, user-centric solutions.

Responsibilities
  • End-to-end design, implementation and evolution of developer-facing systems and features
  • Collect feedback from internal teams to inform solutions
  • Drive feature development, UX and usability improvements
  • Develop, operate and evolve the Engineering Portal UI & backend for security, reliability and quality
  • Design, build, and maintain the developer portal including CI/CD pipelines, documentation, automated testing, security upgrades, and observability integrations
  • Partner with platform, software and hardware teams to integrate services, tooling, and policies into the portal in a user-centric, automated manner
  • Collaborate across Arm to improve daily life and productivity of engineers
Key requirements
  • Deep expertise in JavaScript, TypeScript, and NodeJS for production-grade web apps
  • Experience with React or a modern JS web framework for UI development
  • Experience with Continuous Delivery and automated testing for production systems
  • Strong understanding of security fundamentals for distributed systems (JWTs, OAuth2, OIDC)
  • Desire to work in a Platform Engineering environment focused on automation and self-service
  • Strong collaboration and influence skills across teams
  • Ability to make and communicate architectural tradeoffs for usability, security, scalability, and maintainability
