Staff Full Stack Software Engineer

Build Affirm Card experiences remotely across Canada with full stack expertise in Python, Kotlin, React, and distributed systems. Use AI to ship trusted improvements.

As a Staff Software Engineer on Affirm’s Card Experiences team, you will own customer-facing web, mobile, and backend features end to end. You will set technical strategy, shape execution plans, and partner with product, design, risk, operations, and analytics. The work spans highly available systems, operational excellence, and production monitoring.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set technical strategy across a year-long team horizon
• Own features from problem definition through production monitoring
• Maintain monitoring, alerting, testing, playbooks, and on-call processes
• Establish code review and design standards through writing and tech talks
• Develop talent through feedback, guidance, and example

Requirements:

• Eight or more years designing backend systems at scale
• Experience with Python or Kotlin, AWS, MySQL, Spark, and Kubernetes
• Proficiency with React Native, React, or Vue
• Experience designing highly available distributed systems
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
