Overview

As Staff Product Engineer you own meaningful product areas in an enterprise-grade, mission-driven team. You’ll design robust, scalable backend systems with a strong focus on performance and clean architecture, collaborating closely with product, DevOps, and cross-functional partners. You’ll tackle non-functional requirements and drive architectural decisions in a Symfony-centric, backend-heavy environment while shipping high-quality software with real-world impact. This role blends enterprise complexity with startup pace in an in-person, ownership-driven culture.

Responsibilities
  • Own key product areas across the full stack and shape system design
  • Deliver robust, scalable software while addressing performance, security, and reliability
  • Collaborate with Product Leads and DevOps on architectural decisions and system evolution
  • Debug, improve existing functionality, and design new features with a holistic view of the product
  • Write well-structured, testable code and contribute to documentation
  • Maintain and scale systems in a Symfony-heavy environment with PostgreSQL
  • Balance fast delivery with avoidance of technical debt
  • Participate in a collaborative, in-person environment
  • Drive ownership and measurable impact in a small, high-performing team

Key requirements
  • Experienced engineer in complex environments and full-stack work
  • Proven track record delivering enterprise-grade applications
  • Background in PHP (or .NET/Java) with ability to transition to Symfony
  • Experience with modern frameworks and architectural patterns such as DDD or CQRS
  • Strong understanding of performance, scalability, and non-functional requirements
  • Experience with PostgreSQL and full-stack development
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to work closely with product and engineering teams
  • Experience in startup or scale-up environments and complex enterprise systems
