Staff Product Manager, Local Payment Methods Growth

As a Product Manager in the Local Payment Methods team, you will own strategic partnerships with major payment providers and drive substantial payment volume growth. You will translate ambiguous problems into clear plans, align leaders across internal and external groups, and shape the adoption of scalable payment methods. You’ll collaborate with merchants, partners, and cross-functional teams to optimize payments performance and distribution globally. This role offers the chance to impact Stripe’s growth by advancing high-impact payment methods and ecosystems.
Responsibilities- Define and execute the long-term vision and roadmap for your pillar within Local Payment Methods
- Deeply understand merchant and partner needs by engaging with cross-functional teams (risk, legal, data science, engineering, GTM)
- Drive adoption of strategic payment methods across merchants and unlock new distribution opportunities
- Collaborate with Risk to ensure sustainable growth, balancing approvals with loss minimization
- Translate multi-quarter roadmaps into compelling narratives with product marketing and GTM teams
- Build empathy for Stripe users and monitor industry trends to influence the roadmap
- Define valuable investments with distribution, performance, cost, and risk considerations
- Coordinate with partnership managers to align joint roadmaps with payment partners
- Become a subject-matter expert for strategic payment partners and provide them with needed support
- 8+ years in a product management or product-adjacent role with a track record of impactful products
- Experience partnering with engineers, designers, and external partners to build scalable products
- Strong written and verbal communication with concise articulation of user problems
- Analytical skills with experience defining success metrics and running experiments to measure revenue/conversion impact
- Experience aligning multiple stakeholders, developing joint roadmaps, and navigating competing priorities
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, autonomous environment and manage multi-quarter roadmaps
