Staff Security Engineer Walrus

Lead security architecture for Walrus at Mysten Labs, using security assessments and automation as a remote-first engineer worldwide. Shape protection from design onward.

As a Staff Security Engineer, you will serve as Walrus’s primary security partner and contribute across Mysten’s ecosystem. You will guide infrastructure, application, and cryptographic security efforts. The work supports Sui, Move, and foundational blockchain infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead security assessments for new Walrus features
• Identify systemic risks and recommend actionable remediation plans
• Drive security-by-design across development lifecycles
• Use AI-driven tools and automation to address low-hanging risks
• Mentor engineers and establish security best practices

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, or equivalent experience
• 8+ years of security engineering industry experience
• Staff-level experience or equivalent professional background
• Security generalist expertise across infrastructure, applications, and cryptography
• Automated security tooling and AI/ML experience
