In this Staff Engineer role, you will shape Tide’s AI-enabled backend platforms, building scalable services and orchestration to power AI-powered decisions. You’ll collaborate with product, data, platform, and security teams to productionise shared AI capabilities, while setting standards for reliability, security, and developer usability. You’ll influence long-term technical direction and help create reusable patterns for AI-enabled workflows. This is a chance to impact financial services at scale with innovative, secure AI infrastructure.

- Build core backend services and APIs for Tide's agentic platform
- Integrate third-party and internal components to accelerate delivery
- Collaborate with product, data, platform, and security teams to productionise AI capabilities
- Design reliable, secure, observable services that are easy for other teams to adopt
- Shape reusable engineering patterns for AI-enabled workflows
- Strong backend or platform engineering in production
- Sound judgment across APIs, distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, and service design
- Experience integrating internal and third-party platforms
- Ability to work in ambiguity and translate needs into robust platform components
- Commitment to quality, reliability, and developer usability
- Experience with AI infrastructure or orchestration is helpful but not essential
- Experience in regulated industries (Fintech, Healthtech) where safety/compliance is valuable but not essential
- Design and build automated evaluation pipelines to measure agent reasoning accuracy and safety trajectories
