Overview

In this role, you will design, build, and lead production-grade AI platforms and backend systems that power AI-powered products. You’ll be a hands-on technical leader, shaping scalable services, data and inference pipelines, and responsible AI practices for enterprise-scale workloads. You will collaborate with product, data science, and engineering teams to translate strategy into robust technical solutions. This role offers exposure to cutting-edge AI, large language models, and platform-wide impact.

Responsibilities
  • Design, code, and lead delivery of scalable AI platforms and intelligent applications
  • Be a hands-on technical leader, reviewing and improving production systems
  • Build scalable backend services, data pipelines, and inference pipelines for real-time and batch AI workloads
  • Implement LLM applications using retrieval-augmented generation, prompt orchestration, and evaluation frameworks
  • Make key technical decisions on maintainability, performance, reliability, security, and cost
  • Establish engineering best practices through code reviews, automated testing, and observability
  • Champion machine learning operations including model lifecycle, evaluation, and deployment pipelines
  • Collaborate with product managers, data scientists, and stakeholders to translate priorities into solutions
  • Build reusable frameworks and tooling to accelerate AI development across teams
  • Evaluate emerging AI technologies via prototypes and production-readiness assessments
  • Mentor engineers through coaching, pairing, and design reviews
Key requirements
  • 8+ years of software engineering experience with scalable backend systems
  • Expert-level coding in Python, TypeScript, Java, or Go
  • Deep hands-on AI experience with LLMs, AI agents, RAG, and prompt engineering
  • Experience bringing AI solutions from prototype to production with performance, scalability, and security trade-offs
  • Cloud experience (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and production systems with Docker, Kubernetes, ECS
  • Strong API design, distributed systems, data pipelines, databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis), and observability
  • Ability to influence technical direction while mentoring engineers
  • Deep AI expertise with a track record of AI-driven transformation and platform scalability
  • Commitment to responsible AI including governance, monitoring, and continuous improvement
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in relevant field, or equivalent practical experience
