Staff Software Engineer, Continuous Integration

In this role you will design and operate scalable CI infrastructure that supports thousands of daily builds across multiple cloud providers. You will enhance test systems and intelligent test selection to speed up feedback while preserving quality. You’ll automate incident response and improve observability, helping Anthropic shipping reliable AI research and products. • Design and build reliable, scalable CI infrastructure across clouds
• Develop intelligent test selection to reduce CI time
• Automate incident response, including auto-recovery and observability tooling
• Improve test infrastructure reliability via flake detection and test state management
• Manage merge queues and complex branching strategies to ensure code quality at scale
• Create CI tooling to boost developer productivity and reduce operational overhead

• 10+ years of experience building and operating large-scale CI/CD systems
• Deep experience with CI orchestration tools (Buildkite, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar)
• Excellent communication skills and ability to support internal partners
• Experience with container orchestration at scale
• Strong focus on reliability and preventing repeat failures
