Staff Software Engineer - Customer Facing Applied AI

In this role you build AI-powered agents that transform client workflows, from rapid prototyping to production deployment. You work closely with clients and engineering teams to turn ideas into scalable features and infrastructure. You design reliable AI solutions, integrate LLMs, and continuously evaluate performance to ensure real-world impact. This is a hands-on, client-facing opportunity to shape product capabilities on a new team with room to influence direction and outcomes.

• Build AI-powered agents and tools end-to-end from problem framing with clients to production delivery
• Design and implement LLM integrations including prompt engineering, function calling, structured outputs, and retrieval-augmented workflows
• Define evaluation criteria and build test harnesses for AI systems with domain-specific ambiguity
• Collaborate directly with clients to validate AI behavior and iterate toward production quality
• Partner with core engineering teams to generalize client work into product features
• Contribute to shared AI infrastructure (agent frameworks, tool integrations, deployment pipelines)
• Monitor and maintain production AI systems focusing on reliability, cost, and performance

• Extensive professional software engineering experience
• Professional Python experience
• Experience with LLM APIs (Claude, GPT, or similar) including function calling and structured outputs
• Comfort with SQL for data exploration and data-grounded AI workflows
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools (Claude Code, Codex, or similar)
• Experience taking projects from zero to one with a bias for action
• End-to-end delivery mindset with customer-facing focus
• BS in Computer Science, Mathematics, or another quantitative field, or equivalent experience
