Overview

In this role you will lead systems engineering for next-generation commercial aircraft solutions, guiding technical scope, cost, and schedule. You’ll provide engineering and project leadership, coordinate offshore resources, and ensure requirements are traceable from system to components. You’ll shape architectures, verification and validation approaches, and support proposals and modeling activities. This is a hands-on leadership role in a performance-driven aerospace team with impact on program delivery and product platforms.

Responsibilities
  • Lead systems engineering execution for programs ensuring alignment of scope, cost, schedule and milestones
  • Lead system design, requirements allocation, and interface definition to translate customer needs into hardware/software specs
  • Develop system-level models, simulations, and model-based approaches to support architectures
  • Define verification and validation strategies for systems/subsystems
  • Create subsystem requirements traceable to system-level requirements and write corresponding specifications
  • Oversee system/subsystem integration, test, and anomaly investigations
  • Provide status on technical progress, risk, cost, and schedule to leadership and stakeholders
  • Prepare concise design decisions, analyses, and proposal write-ups; contribute to successful proposals
  • Support product platforms, models, and simulations to reduce recurring development costs
  • Direct offshore/remote engineering resources to meet technical, cost, and schedule commitments
  • Maintain and evaluate modeling tools and simulations as needed
  • Travel approximately 10% for customer/vendor visits
  • Lead work planning, cost estimates, performance tracking and corrective actions as applicable
Key requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Mechanical, Software, Aerospace or Systems Engineering; Master’s preferred
  • 10+ years progressive engineering experience, preferably in aerospace
  • Knowledge of ARP 4754; familiarity with DO-178/DO-331
  • Expertise in requirements engineering, V&V, subsystem integration, and technical leadership
  • Experience managing offshore/remote engineering teams; knowledge of Control Account Management is a plus
  • Experience with Model Based Engineering (MBE)
  • Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink; familiarity with SysML is a plus
  • Proficiency with requirements management tools (preferably DOORS)
  • Proven capabilities in requirements management, V&V methods, control system design, and integration/testing
  • Strong relationship-building, planning, organizational, and customer-focused abilities
