Staff/Principal Systems Architect

In this role you join the PowerVR architecture team to shape future GPU generations. You work closely with senior leadership to define the roadmap and deliver architectural features that balance power, performance, area, and bandwidth. You translate industry trends into concrete specifications and collaborate with research, modelling, product, and implementation teams to realise efficient GPU designs. You engage with customers and standards bodies to align on direction and influence long-term technology. • Define and deliver architectural feature specifications for next-gen GPUs
• Analyze power, performance, area, and bandwidth to meet targets
• Map novel algorithms to efficient hardware implementations with the research team
• Collaborate with modelling, product, and implementation teams to drive technology roadmap
• Review performance data with the performance team and validate completed implementations
• Participate in engineering reviews and propose improvements
• Liaise with customers and industry standards bodies (e.g., Khronos) as needed
• Patent inventions to protect innovations

• Experience with GPU architecture or similarly large, complex systems
• Good understanding of modern 3D graphics and/or compute APIs (Vulkan, D3D12, OpenCL)
• Understanding of digital ASIC design methodologies and constraints
• Ability to plan, estimate, and track own work
• Experience driving architecture exploration activities that result in concrete feature specs
• Understanding design and verification challenges to make effective trade-offs for ROI
• Clear communication of technical issues and championing decisions
