Subsea Cable Technical Lead

In this role you will provide technical leadership for offshore transmission projects, focusing on subsea cable systems across HVAC and HVDC. You’ll work within a multi-disciplinary team to translate client requirements into robust, cost-effective solutions and engineering assurance. You will engage with developers, investors and utilities, guiding FEED to construction and commissioning activities. The position offers international collaboration and growth through industry engagement with organisations like CIGRE and IEC, and a strong focus on impactful, socially useful work.

• Provide technical leadership across a growing portfolio of offshore transmission projects
• Translate client requirements into innovative, pragmatic solutions
• Lead technical subsea cable workstreams and engineering assurance
• Support FEED, detailed design, construction or Owner's Engineer services
• Oversee subsea cable pre-commissioning, commissioning activities (FATs/SATs) and asset management
• Engage confidently with clients and industry stakeholders
• Collaborate with global teams and contribute to thought leadership
• Travel internationally as part of project delivery

• Extensive industry experience in offshore export cable systems (HVAC/HVDC)
• Strong cable design understanding affecting routing, installation, protection and operation
• Experience with FEED, detailed design, construction or Owner's Engineer services
• Experience in pre-commissioning and commissioning activities, FATs/SATs, asset management and performance
• Excellent client and stakeholder engagement skills
• Proven ability to lead technical subsea cable workstreams and provide engineering assurance
• Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering / Electrical Power Systems
• Chartered Engineer status
