Support Engineer II

In this role, you contribute to manufacturing reliability by performing preventive maintenance and tackling equipment breakdowns in a cleanroom environment. You will support process yields and efficiencies, and assist the Projects Team with equipment changes. You work within Abbott’s Operations Group to maintain bespoke automated systems and drive continuous improvement. This is a hands-on engineering position at a fast-growing, state-of-the-art automation site that supports cutting-edge glucose monitoring technology.

• Perform preventive maintenance on bespoke automated equipment and processes
• Respond to breakdowns and fault-find to restore production quickly
• Monitor equipment performance and contribute to yield and efficiency improvements
• Provide input to maintain process yields and efficiencies
• Assist Projects Team with equipment changes and implementation
• Maintain high-quality records compliant with quality systems
• Communicate effectively with peers and other departments
• Support continuous improvement initiatives in operations

• Experience in engineering within a manufacturing environment
• Set-up of precision assemblies and use of machine tools
• Fault finding and problem solving skills
• Completed engineering apprenticeship or higher education in a related subject
• Ability to communicate across teams and maintain detailed records
• Willingness to contribute to continuous improvement and projects
• Experience with or exposure to regulated industries is advantageous
