Locums - Hattiesburg, Mississippi Cardiovascular Surgery Opportunity

Clinical Role RecruitWell is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Cardiovascular Surgeon for an ongoing locums opportunity in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. This hospital-based assignment is focused on call coverage, including management of assigned and unassigned patients and admissions as needed. IMLC candidates are accepted.

Assignment Details

  • Coverage begins November 2026

  • Ongoing need

  • Call coverage

  • Holiday coverage specifically needed: 11/24/26 at 5pm through 11/28/26 at 7am and 12/22/26 at 5pm through 12/26/26 at 7am.

  • Call ratio: 1:1

  • Assigned and unassigned patients

  • 30-minute call response time required

  • Admissions required

  • Approximately 1-4 patients per shift

  • 8-bed unit

  • Cerner EMR

  • Holiday coverage need for Thanksgiving and Christmas 2027

Clinical Details & Responsibilities

  • Provide Cardiovascular Surgery call coverage

  • Evaluate and manage surgical patients

  • Provide inpatient consultations

  • Manage assigned and unassigned patients

  • Complete admissions as required

  • Respond within 30 minutes when called

  • Coordinate care with hospital teams and clinical support staff

  • Complete timely clinical documentation

Support & Technology

  • 8-bed unit

  • Level III Trauma Center

  • Stroke Certified hospital

  • EMR: Cerner

Requirements

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiovascular Surgery required

  • Cardiovascular Surgery fellowship required

  • Active Mississippi medical license required

  • IMLC candidates accepted

  • ACLS required

  • Must be able to meet a 30-minute call response time

  • Must be comfortable with admissions and hospital-based call coverage

  • 1:1 call ratio

  • Approximately 1-4 patients per shift

  • Assigned and unassigned patient responsibilities
