Clinical Role

RecruitWell is seeking a Board-Certified General Surgeon for locums call coverage in Victoria, Texas. This is an inpatient hospital-based assignment providing Thanksgiving holiday coverage, including admissions, consultations, and management of both assigned and unassigned patients.

Assignment Details

  • Coverage dates: November 25-30, 2026

  • Inpatient setting

  • Call coverage

  • Admissions required

  • 99-bed facility

  • Level III Trauma Center

  • Stroke-certified hospital

  • Coverage includes assigned and unassigned patients

  • 30-minute call response time required

Schedule & Call Coverage

  • Call coverage throughout the assignment

  • Call ratio: 1:1

  • Required response time: 30 minutes

  • Approximately 5 phone consultations

  • Approximately 10 patients seen

  • Approximately 5 admissions

Practice Setting & Clinical Expectations

  • Inpatient General Surgery

  • Evaluate and manage assigned and unassigned surgical patients

  • Respond to General Surgery consultations

  • Complete admissions as required

  • Provide urgent and emergent surgical evaluation and treatment

  • Maintain a 30-minute response time while on call

Support & Technology

  • EMR: Cerner and Athena

  • Level III Trauma Center

  • Stroke-certified hospital

Requirements & Credentialing

  • Board Certified in General Surgery required

  • Active Texas medical license required

  • ACLS required
