Emergency General Surgery Call Coverage Locums Job Northern Illinois October 30 - November 2

Jackson and Coker is partnered with a facility in northern Illinois (about an hour and a half outside of Chicago) that's urgently in need of General Surgery call coverage support this Friday, October 30 (7A) - Monday, November 2 at 7AM.

Candidates that can help with this urgent need will also be eligible to help with ongoing coverage needs that come up (average of 1 weekend/month). Are you available?

Immediate Coverage Need:
Friday, 10/30 at 7AM - Monday, 11/2 at 7AM

Job Requirements for Assignment :
Illinois state medical license + CSR required to obtain privileges
Must be open to providing an NPDB self-query at time of presentation and/or have a clean background to qualify for temp privs
Board Certified/Eligibility required
Bread & Butter General Surgery
On-call provider must be comfortable placing central venous lines, hemodialysis catheters and chest tubes
Most routine operations done on call are laparoscopic cholecystectomies, laparoscopic appendectomies, and exploratory laparotomies
While the hospital is not a trauma center, the on-call surgeon is expected to respond to any level one trauma if requested by the emergency department. This usually involves stabilizing the patient for transfer to a regional Level One Trauma Center.
Average of 0-5 patients per day + patient rounding
Facility details: located about two hours outside of Chicago, MediTech EMR, 100+ bed facility, not a designated trauma location
