- Provide cardiothoracic surgery coverage during assigned 24-hour call periods.
- Evaluate and manage urgent surgical cases from the cardiac catheterization laboratory through surgery.
- Provide consultations and determine appropriate surgical care for adult patients.
- Round on assigned patients and respond to callbacks, averaging approximately 2 4 hours per day.
- Coordinate care for patients transitioning from the ICU through discharge.
- Collaborate with APP support and hospital care teams.
- Provide surgical backup following consultation when patients can safely await further care.
Required
- Pennsylvania medical license
- DEA registration
- Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Cardiac Surgery
- At least 1 year of relevant experience
- Ability to provide adult cardiothoracic surgery coverage and 24-hour call availability
Preferred
- Experience using EPIC electronic medical records
- Experience working with APP-supported hospital teams
