The department is growing from 5 to 6 Trauma/Critical Care Surgeons operating under an Acute Care Surgery model. Clinical Scope

• Call: 1:6
• Iowa Methodist Medical Center Äî 370-bed ACS-verified Level I Trauma Center
• Blank Children's Hospital Äî 88-bed ACS-verified Level II Trauma Center
• 1,700 admissions annually
• One location to cover with a newer ED and Trauma rooms
• Surgery department consists of 5 Trauma/Critical Care Surgeons (growing to 6), 5 General
Surgeons, 4 Colorectal Surgeons, and 1 Surgical Oncologist
• General Surgery Residency Program on-site
