Overview

As a Graduate Software Engineer, you will design and implement system software for AMD’s FinTech accelerated networking platform. You’ll join the Datacentre Group in Cambridge to create high-performance Linux-based networking software that tightens the hardware datapath. You’ll collaborate with firmware, driver, and test teams to deliver production-ready releases. The role blends software and hardware understanding to tackle challenging networking problems. This is a growth-orientated role in a culture that values innovation, collaboration, and impact at scale.

Responsibilities
  • Develop open-source system software for networking acceleration on Linux
  • Deeply understand the networking stack from applications through middleware and kernel drivers to NIC firmware and hardware
  • Collaborate with firmware and driver teams to refine interfaces
  • Work with system test and customer support to deliver tested releases into production
  • Bridge software and hardware understanding to rapidly grasp new problems
  • Contribute to design and implementation of the FinTech accelerated networking platform
Key requirements
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Maths or related field
  • Experience writing C code
  • Experience with Python and other scripting languages
  • Strong communication skills
  • Knowledge of Ethernet and TCP/IP
