Overview

In this role you will support a high-profile financial services client as a Sybase DBA, ensuring data integrity, high availability, and well-tuned performance. You will work within a cross-functional environment to design, implement and maintain database servers and data models. This is a strategic step into an implementation-focused track with exposure to large-scale financial IT systems. You will collaborate with global teams to deliver reliable database services and gain serious financial experience.

Responsibilities
  • Back up servers according to routine schedules
  • Monitor and improve performance
  • Maintain data integrity and prevent corruption
  • Ensure maximum availability of the database servers
  • Perform SQL performance tuning
  • Design and maintain data models
  • Plan and implement database server deployments
Key requirements
  • 5 years commercial experience as a Sybase DBA
  • Proven experience as a Database Administrator
  • Proven experience in SQL programming
  • Sybase ASE 12.5 and 15.0 administration and troubleshooting
  • Sybase Replication Server administration and troubleshooting
  • Understanding of ASE and replication deployments to Windows and Red Hat operating systems
  • Database capacity planning
  • Knowledge of modeling tools such as Power Designer
