SysOps Engineer

Salary: £60,000 - 60,000 per year

Requirements:

• We require impressive academic credentials, with at least a 2.1 in Computer Science or a closely similar subject from a well‐respected university.
• We require a proven ability to learn new skills and quickly solve problems.
• We require excellent practical knowledge of the Linux operating system.
• We require experience deploying and testing software systems, including integrated bespoke hardware.
• We require strong scripting skills with Bash or Python.
• We require a solid understanding of standard software engineering tools such as version control with GitHub.
• We require existing UK work permission without time limit or sponsorship.
• Knowledge of FPGA‐based systems, CI/CD infrastructure, Rust, or Verilog would enhance the application.

Responsibilities:

• We carry out manual system‐level testing to ensure software performance and usability.
• We take the lead on the move towards automation.
• We deploy finished releases to bespoke FPGA‑accelerated Linux systems on‑site and overseas.
• We tackle emergent issues with deployments.
• We characterise and diagnose problems with the software itself.
• We provide some out‑of‑hours support from time to time when needed.
