In this role you oversee the design and development of innovative technical solutions for surface ships, guiding the full systems engineering lifecycle from requirements to qualification. You will coordinate with Sales, Project Management, and Engineering to deliver fit-for-purpose capabilities that meet customer needs and defence standards. Expect to tackle complex technical problems, make sound decisions, and provide oversight across lifecycle stages. The position offers exposure to cutting-edge maritime systems and a clear path to impact through customer-focused delivery and technical leadership.

- Provide technical oversight across the product lifecycle with cross-functional teams
- Interpret customer requirements and specify system solutions
- Plan development and testing activities and lead engineering lifecycle reviews
- Define system architecture and interfaces (internal and external)
- Develop test and acceptance strategies and manage risk
- Create engineering work packages and subcontractor specifications
- Support Project/Bid Manager in identifying and managing technical risk
- Lead Factory, Harbour and Sea Acceptance Test activities
- Ensure outputs meet quality standards per System Engineering processes
- Represent TKMS Atlas UK products and systems to customers, partners, and suppliers
- Ability to analyse complex problems and identify solutions
- Ability to guide design processes and make sound technical decisions
- Experience in a technical/engineering role with delivery into service
- Competence in Systems Engineering and the lifecycle
- Domain knowledge in Systems Engineering, Sonar and Underwater Acoustics, Maritime Security Systems, Marine technology, Mine warfare, Anti-submarine Warfare, and Command and Control Systems (including networks)
