As a Pre-Sales Systems Engineer for Pure Storage in the UK, you partner with government and enterprise clients to design and deploy secure, scalable data foundations. You will translate business needs into technical architectures using the Pure Storage portfolio and ecosystem solutions. You’ll collaborate with account teams to craft strategy, deliver compelling technical presentations, and drive technical wins. This role sits at the intersection of technology, customer outcomes, and revenue growth, within a culture that values persistence, creativity, teamwork and customer-first thinking.

- Deliver technical leadership in storage products and architectures (DAS, NAS, SAN)
- Own evaluations, benchmarks, and system configurations
- Create and present technical architecture material to lock in the technical win
- Capture requirements and translate business needs into innovative solutions
- Prepare responses to RFPs/RFIs/RFQs and support interoperability testing
- Coordinate with product/tech marketing for whitepapers and web materials
- Stay current on competition and market trends to reinforce positioning

- Pre-sales experience required
- 5+ years of relevant experience in technology, design, or communications
- Experience selling enterprise storage, networking, systems, cloud, or software to enterprise accounts (preferred)
- Deep understanding of multi-tier client/server and web architectures
- Experience targeting new prospects and converting them into clients
- Proven ability to contribute to RFP/RFI/RFP responses
- Strong knowledge of storage architectures (FC, iSCSI, NAS, OSD, SAN)
- Linux, NFS, and Linux distributed environments
- Familiarity with AWS, Azure, GCP is a plus
- Experience with distributed computing, virtualization, and storage subsystems; knowledge of containers, k8s and microservices a plus
- Knowledge of VMware, networking basics (LAN, Ethernet, TCP/IP)
- BS in CS/EE or other technical degree, or equivalent experience
- Familiarity with modern web architecture (LAMP, cloud well-architected frameworks) a plus
- Curiosity and ability to explain new technology to customers
- Desirable familiarity with storage-intensive applications (SQL/Oracle)
