Overview

In this strategic role, you will drive integrated, data-led performance improvements across wastewater operations within a defined area. You’ll partner with senior colleagues to embed new ways of working, deliver performance plans and support advanced monitoring and automation initiatives. Your work will focus on turning operational insight into sustainable, end-to-end improvements for customers and the environment. This is a chance to shape how the wastewater system operates now and in the future, through cross-functional leadership and measurable impact.

Responsibilities
  • Drive an intelligence-led wastewater performance program across the area
  • Use data, analytics and monitoring to identify trends, risks and opportunities
  • Develop and deliver operational plans to improve performance, compliance and efficiency
  • Lead performance improvement initiatives across treatment, network and wastewater operations
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop sustainable, long-term solutions
  • Champion a whole-system approach for end-to-end network outcomes
  • Provide technical input into capital projects, maintenance and investment plans
  • Support county leadership during major incidents
  • Foster proactive, data-led operational management culture
  • Lead, develop and motivate a high-performing team
  • Identify opportunities to improve asset reliability, resilience and regulatory performance
  • Align resources and investment with priorities and business objectives
Key requirements
  • Experience in wastewater operations, asset performance or related technical field with a track record of operational improvements
  • Strong understanding of wastewater systems and regulatory framework
  • Ability to translate data into effective improvement plans
  • Strong leadership, communication and influencing skills across multiple teams
  • Experience managing performance against regulatory, operational and financial targets
  • Highly analytical with problem-solving and practical improvement delivery
  • Strong planning and organisational skills
  • Passion for continuous improvement, innovation and new monitoring, control and automation technologies
