Systems Analyst

In this role you will design and deliver end-to-end solutions that leverage new and existing technology to meet business needs. You will work within Hiscox UK Retail, collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve user experience, reduce costs, and drive technical innovation. You’ll manage the full delivery lifecycle from ideation to deployment, providing clear technical guidance to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. This is a delivery‑focused role with emphasis on architecting practical, scalable solutions. You will be challenged to handle multi‑application initiatives and shape requirements into robust designs.

• Own the solution technical specification and translate business requirements into user stories or functional specs with acceptance criteria
• Build credible relationships with business stakeholders, SMEs, and technical colleagues across levels
• Elicit requirements from non-technical stakeholders and simplify complexity to maximize reuse
• Develop and review solution options with Product Owners, Solution Architects, developers, testers, and vendors to address functional and non-functional needs
• Act as trusted SME for developers and testers, guiding implementation and testing
• Support testing activities, triage defects, and identify root causes
• Drive continual improvements and maximise team efficiency in delivering technical change

• Experience integrating complex software applications and a deep understanding of application functionality, workflows, and processing behavior
• Ability to interpret source/target systems, data models, and data flows to support integration design
• Experience designing, documenting, and reviewing API specifications (SOAP and REST)
• Translate business requirements into clear technical designs and specifications
• Lead collaborative workshops for requirements gathering, solution design, and problem-solving
• Experience working with third-party software vendors and technology partners
• Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders for informed decision-making
